Rayvan Valdez Martinez (Gonzales) is an artist, designer, and silkscreen printer whose art focuses on Hispanic culture, social injustice, and the anti-war movement. After serving in the army until 1974, Martinez moved to the Mission District of downtown San Francisco where he became active in the early Chicano Movement of the 70s and 80s. From 1977-1980, Martinez worked at La Raza Silkscreen Center/La Raza Graphics Center (LRSC/LRGC) where he produced various projects for organizations in the San Francisco/Bay area.
